Thank you, Principal Ravenscraft

Grand Ridge Elementary School Principal Jill Ravenscraft

It's National Principals Month! Today, let's hear more from Grand Ridge Principal Jill Ravenscraft, including what TV sitcom family she wishes she could have as her neighbors!

◾️ How many years have you been in education? 35 years.

◾️ How long have you been working with the ISD? 25 years.

◾️ What is one of your favorite memories from when you were in school as a student, and why? Being surrounded by teachers and a family who believed in me.  I owe my success to them.

◾️ If you could live in any fantasy world, what would it be? On the TV set of “Modern Family,” next door to the Dunphy’s (does this count?!).  😊

◾️ Who inspires you, and why? Every person who crosses my path inspires me, and teaches me a lesson, in some way.  They compel me to do better and to be better.

◾️ What is one of your hobbies or something you’re a huge fan of (and briefly explain why)? I LOVE to kayak.  There is no place on earth like being on the water and surrounded by beauty.  The water is like a giant mood ring; it changes color and it changes its flow.  I find peace on the water like I do in no other setting.

◾️ What did you do for fun/to relax this summer? I kayaked to an island and camped.  If you don’t know me you will say, “Big deal” with an eyeroll. If you do know me, you know that I do not camp.  I actually earned a camping badge for having the courage to give camping another whirl.  The beauty of the experience remains with me even now.

◾️ What’s your biggest hope for this school year? My biggest hope for this year is to embrace our future, to celebrate our learners and to have a GRAND time!!!
